Desafíos ante el cambio de época Palabras clave: Bibliotecas académicas Humanismo Habilidades informacionales Evaluación de servicios bibliotecarios Educación jesuita - ResumenDesde sus inicios, la educación jesuita requirió que las bibliotecas de sus colegios y universidades dotaran a docentes y estudiantes con lecturas indispensables para hacer realidad la propuesta humanista que las caracterizaba. Esas mismas bibliotecas han acompañado las obras educativas de la Compañía a lo largo de las transformaciones de su modelo pedagógico. A casi 500 años de iniciada esta historia, propongo tres rubros en los que las bibliotecas de las instituciones ignacianas de América Latina podemos actuar en concordancia con los objetivos de la educación jesuita: contribuir a la transversalización de las habilidades informacionales en los programas académicos, el activismo en favor del acceso abierto a la información, y la evaluación de nuestro servicio a las comunidades a las que pertenecemos. Inclán Cienfuegos* - Abstract Since its early stages, Jesuit education required that the libraries of its colleges and universities provided teachers and students with books and texts deemed essential to fulfill its humanist pedagogy. These same libraries have accompanied the educational institutions of the Company throughout the transformations of its proposal. Almost 500 years after this story began, I propose three areas in which the libraries of Latin American Ignatian institutions can act in accordance with the objectives of Jesuit education: first: work with academia to achieve the transversalization throughout the curricula of an information skills program; to be more active in favor of the open access movement; and acting to promote the evaluation of our services to the communities to which we belong.
